Japan-Singapore Workshop on Applied Quantum Optimization
The Japan-Singapore Workshop on Applied Quantum Optimization is a joint international workshop that introduces students and researchers to emerging quantum approaches for solving large-scale optimization problems in logistics, scheduling, manufacturing, healthcare, and other domains.
The workshop combines foundational lectures, hands-on tutorials, industry-inspired challenge problems, and collaborative project development. Participants will gain exposure to both quantum annealing and gate-based variational approaches while interacting with researchers from Singapore and Japan working at the intersection of quantum computing, artificial intelligence, and optimization.
【Objectives】
1. Learn the foundations of quantum optimization methods, including quantum annealing, Ising/QUBO modeling, and gate-based variational quantum algorithms.
2. Gain hands-on experience running optimization models on real quantum hardware and cloud platforms, including systems from D-Wave Systems, Quantinuum, and IBM.
3. Explore real-world optimization applications and industrial use cases.
4. Develop prototype formulations, algorithms, or proof-of-concept implementations.
5. Foster collaborative research interactions between participants from Singapore and Japan.
【Target Participants】
Undergraduate and graduate students, early-career researchers and practitioners, and senior high-school students with strong quantitative backgrounds
【Language】
English
